Grades 7-12: Science

This certification requires students to complete their degree plan as prescribed by their major as well as the course work listed below. The certification sought must match the student’s academic major.

  • 12 hours English
  • 3 hours science
  • 6 hours history
  • 6 hours government
  • 3 hours mathematics
  • 3 hours public speaking
  • 3 hours of fine arts
  • ED 3314: American Public School
  • ED/PSY 3339: Educational Psychology
  • ED 4353: Reading in the Secondary Content
  • ED 3371: C&I (Curriculum & Instruction) Science
  • ED 4372: Educational Technology
  • ED 4361: Classroom Management
  • ED 4694: Clinical Teaching
  • The following Science courses are needed for certification:
  • BIOL 2311/2111: Introduction to Biology I
  • BIOL 2312/2112: Introduction to Biology II
  • CHEM 1311/1111: General Chemistry I with Lab
  • CHEM 1312/1112: General Chemistry II with Lab
  • PHYS 2325: Mechanics & Lab
  • PHYS 2326/2126: Electromagnetism & Lab
  • CHEM 2323: Introduction to Organic Chemistry I
  • CHEM 2325: Introduction to Organic Chemistry II
  • BIOL 4380: Cell Biology Lab
  • BIOL 3301/3101: Classical & Molecular Genetics with Lab
  • BIOL 3302/3102 Molecular & Cell Biology with Lab
  • BIOL 3361: Biochemistry & Workshop

All education courses are RESTRICTED. You must be admitted into the TDC before registering for education courses. Students submit a registration form to the TDC and we will register the student.
