Teacher Candidate Enrollment Calendar
UT Dallas has a rolling enrollment for students seeking their teacher certification. Students (including transfer students) must enroll with at least 12 hours at UTD and generally are sophomores or juniors. All post-baccalaureate students are admitted immediately upon entrance into the university.
Calendar Details
Official Admission
Students are notified by Certification officer. Formal offer is extended through email. Students must immediately respond to the offer by responding “I accept”, by UT Dallas email. In addition, students must set up TEAL (to get TEA login), ECOS (Educator online System) and NES accounts within a seven-day time period before official admission is complete.
Coursework
Over the next several semesters, Students complete required coursework for both their certification classes and their degree. Finish coursework.
Pre-clinical Teaching Semester
Students are encouraged to take advantage of university resources to prepare for their PPR and content exams.
Students must pass exams before they are allowed to enter clinical teaching. Students must have successfully completed their 60 hours of fieldwork by the end of this semester.
Clinical Teaching
Students successfully
completes a semester of
clinical teaching. In the last 3 weeks of clinical teaching, they are encouraged to apply for certification. Students complete clinical teaching and apply for certification.
Admission for the 2023-24 school year runs from Aug. 21, 2023 to Dec. 16, 2023 and continues January 17, 2024 to August 19, 2024.
